A Little Bit of Sunshine & Happiness
Created by: Alexandra, Sofia, Gaby , Cameron , & Gabby
Materials: Water, leaves, grass, broken rocks, flowers

A little bit of sunshine & happiness is inspired by life.
The red, yellow,& orange leaves represent a sunset. A sunset because when
you look at one you just realize how peaceful & calm nature along with life
is. The green is for the grass getting the shadow of the sun going down. When someone looks at this, it supposed to make you feel like you’re watching the sunset, with a field of grass right in front, along with a pile of rocks helping the sun give its shadow. It’s meant for a person to just look at it & feel happy inside. Every color in the picture are the soothing cool/warm colors that you think of when you want to relax. It’s meant for peace between the world & yourself. It’s for a person with a frown on their face, & to just look at this & say, this is what life is about. Not sadness or frowning, but for happiness& joy as bright & big as the sun.

Mystical Leaves
Created by- Jean & Mitra (8th grade)
Materials: leaves, branches, pinecones

My inspiration for this was for protection. I wanted this to be
like a barrier of the forest. I want it to protect the forest and all the animals in it.  How I made this was first I put leaves in a circular pattern
then I put branches around it. I also put branches in the in middle in a tick
tack to pattern. What was challenging about this project was finding the
material. How my way of thinking changed while make this was first I
wanted it be a circle of life, but that seemed too common so I changed it.
When I finished making this I felt proud of it.  What I gained from this project was that you could make anything
from nature.

The  Simplicities of Life
Created by Alec , Alex , Steven

Materials: leaves, Wood, Sticks

I got my inspiration from a tree branch. The tree branch was
going to be the original project but me and my friends found a better spot and used the same idea of our first project in a different way. Me and my friends made it by wedging sticks into a tree and putting pieces of wood on top. Overall it was not very challenging but one part that was hard was getting the wood to get on the sticks without them falling. When we first came up with the idea we thought it was easy but as we got into it became hard. I felt accomplished and happy in the end because we came up with an original idea and made it. What I gained from this project is the respect of nature and the knowledge that everything in nature can become art.

Seasonal Leaves
Created by: Rosalinda And Katarina (8th grade)
Materials: Leaves, and a rock

This project was fun and challenging. I was inspired to do
leaves gradually changing from burgundy to orange by Andy Goldsworthy. Andy Goldsworthy is a nature artist who works only with natural materials. I made it by collecting leaves that changed from shades of red to orange and then collecting green leaves. Then I arranged them in a pattern on a rock and added the green leaves in a vertical and horizontal pattern. The part that was most challenging was aligning them in the right order and making sure that nothing was out of place as the wind blew. My way of thinking changed many times when working with this piece, I had to switch to only one kind of leaf after collecting many other leaves, and I had to get rid of leaves that had a weird shade of color or were ripped. Overall I really love the end result and how something so simple can look creative, organized, and beautiful. I think that after working with the project I have really grown a relationship with nature and I appreciate it a lot more than I did when I started. I also have come to realize how beautiful nature really is.

A Wooden Survival
Created by: Esai, Albert

Materials: sticks, broken tree

My inspiration is when I usually I play survival mode on Minecraft and
saw the broken tree I decided that I should try to make a wooden house or tent. I made it by stacking the sticks vertically so I have some protection from the monsters of the night. It was a lot of heavy lifting but I got help from Esai. I did want to change it but it was good as it was. I felt good about the results because then I can survive the night in it so I can make Minecraft in real life. I gained a survival that is supposed to be in a computer and made it into real life.
